SENIOR CENTER INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: The Senior Center is OPEN even if Dover/Phila Schools are closed. In the event of a large snowfall or ice storm, please listen to WJER or WTUZ for updates on the Senior Center's closing or delay.
HEAP (HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM): The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) offers several programs to help low-income Ohioans pay their utility bills and improve energy efficiency in their homes. Applications are available at all of our site locations, assistance with application is available if needed. Please call 330-364-6611 for an appointment if you require assistance. Appointments can be made Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
GUEST POLICY: The Tuscarawas County Senior Center welcomes guests of VIP members. If you are a VIP member and are having company, your guests may join you at the Center for up to five (5) days per year. We ask that you check in with our receptionist and a guest pass will be issued. If a program or class has a fee associated with it, guests are required to pay the fee.
FINANCIAL AID: Available to individuals who need assistance
with class fees. Ask the Receptionist for an application and return it to the Executive Director. All inquiries are kept confidential.
SOS PROGRAM: The Support our Seniors Program has funds available to help senior citizens who are 55 and older and living in Tuscarawas County. The purpose of the program is to provide emergency assistance to our most vulnerable seniors who need financial help with things such as utility bills and minor home repairs. An application for these funds can be picked up at the Senior Center. A home visit may be necessary to assess the requested repair. All funds are raised through the Annual Fall Gala event.
