STARTING POINT SUPPORT GROUP:
Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. This group is specifically for individuals who are experiencing grief through the loss of a loved one.
It is designed to help individuals understand the grief process, as well as provide an opportunity to learn new ways of coping and provide a safe, confidential environment to share feelings and receive support. Please call Nancy Freshwater at 330-364-6611 to register
“SENIOR CENTER LINK”:
First-time visitors to the Center be our guest for a one time free
delicious lunch with one of our gracious volunteers! Our volunteer will meet you in the lobby, help you sign in and accompany you to the dining room. After that, you both can enjoy your meal and have an opportunity to ask questions and become informed about the center’s many services. While you’re here a tour of the facility will be offered. HEAP (HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM): The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) offers several programs to help low-income Ohioans pay their utility bills and improve energy efficiency in their homes. Applications are available at all of our site locations, assistance with application is available if needed. Please call 330-364-6611 for an appointment if you require assistance. Appointments can be made Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
FALL GALA NOMINATIONS: Do you know someone over the age of 50 who has made a contribution to the citizens of Tuscarawas County? Nominate them for the Virginia Kane Senior Citizen Hall of Fame Award. This award will be presented at our 8th Annual Fall Gala Luncheon on Friday, October 19th at the center. Nomination forms can be picked up at the front desk and are due by Friday, August 3rd.
GUEST POLICY: The Tuscarawas County Senior Center welcomes guests of VIP members. If you are a VIP member and are having company, your guests may join you at the Center for up to ten (10) days per year. We ask that you check in with our receptionist and a guest pass will be issued. If a program or class has a fee associated with it, guests are required to pay the fee.
FINANCIAL AID: Available to individuals who need assistance
with class fees. Ask the Receptionist for an application and return it to the
Executive Director. All inquiries are kept confidential.
